Qualifications:
Those who meet any of the following conditions may apply to the cycle of studies leading to a Master’s degree:
a) Holders of a “Licenciado” degree or legal equivalent in the area of Health or Life Sciences;
b) Holders of a foreign academic degree in the area of Health or Life Sciences awarded after following the 1st cycle of studies organized according to the principles of the Bologna Process by a State that has adhered to that Process;
c) Holders of a foreign higher education academic degree in the area of Health or Life Sciences that is recognized as meeting the objectives of the “Licenciado” degree by the officially authorised scientific body of the higher education institute to which they wish to be admitted;
d) Holders of academic, scientific or professional curriculum vitae that is recognized as demonstrating the capacity to carry out this cycle of studies by the officially authorised scientific body of the higher education institute to which they wish to be admitted.


Learning objectives:
- Promote the capacity for autonomy, spirit of innovation, research, entrepreneurship and intervention/integration in the labor market in pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, in clinical research laboratories or in organisations providing services and healthcare

In the specialization branch of community intervention, it is intended:
- To develop new skills in applied knowledge and critical analysis, namely learning and application of epidemiological methods and health diagnosis, actions to improve risk management and safety of the patient.

In the specialization branch of biotechnology, the aim is:
- To acquire skills in design, projection and development of biotechnological products, as well as to deepen the knowledge of diagnostic techniques and research in biotechnology.


Incoming profile:
- Candidates from undergraduate courses in the area of Health and Life Sciences.
- Motivation by health innovation sectors.
- Interest in the current issues of health intervention.


Methodologies:
Training model involving:
- Teaching in presence classes in each of the Schools, and at distance by videoconference, enhancing the use of new technologies as a way of updating knowledge;
- Balance between expository and participatory teaching format
The classes will be taught from the ESS of the IPG or ESSa of the IPB, being transmitted by videoconference to the partner institution, and the students can attend in person at one of these institutions.


Output profile:
Specialist professionals:
- for tourism administration at local, regional and national level;
- with a view to boosting and enhancing natural and cultural heritage, contributing to sustainable development and the preservation of identity;
- in the development of business projects based on innovation to stimulate competitiveness;
- interpret best practices in tourism and apply them to tourist organizations.


Career Opportunities:
The Master in Applied Health Sciences provide to graduates in the area of Health advanced scientific and technical training in areas of current strong development of Community Intervention in Health and Applied Biotechnology to Health, essential for the understanding of modern diagnostic and treatment techniques, counseling and health monitoring.
The purpose of this master's is to promote the continuous training of health professionals and to provide the regions of influence of IPG and IPB with professionals highly qualified.
